Back in the days when it actually mattered if you could play an instrument, Robert Johnson was alleged to have gone down to the crossroads and sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for great musical ability. When Bob Dylan disappeared from the New York coffee house scene for two months in 1962, and returned a fully fledged musician and songwriter, people speculated that he had been through a similar experience. As far as I am aware no-one from Holy Moly and the Crackers has sold their sold for musical ability (while the drummer may well have sold his for narcotics...). Holy Moly and the Crackers formed in the Autumn of 2011, about an hour before their first performance. Not much has changed. They have only very recently cottoned on to the fact that most bands actually rehearse. Being pretentious folk musicians, Holy Moly know that the quality of the music is not always as important as the feeling it provokes. To this end they are trying very hard not to feel like pretentious folk musicians. Having spent the last several months in a dingy student let Holy Moly are looking to go up in the world.
